Thursday July 2nd, Indianapolis to Chicago

Day one of our trip! I'm doing this on a tablet so bear with me.
We left Indianapolis around 9:30 a.m. and drove to O'Hare airport. It was much cheaper to drive to Chicago and pay for a direct flight, rather than pay for an Indianapolis to Stockholm flight. We'd have to pay for parking either way. So we stopped for an Italian beef sandwich on Mannheim Road and arrived at O'Hare around 1 p.m. we stopped twice on the way up, aside from lunch--once for gas and once for a restroom.
Check in went really fast at the SAS counter but the line for the TSA was ridiculously long.  People were mad because they were short on time to catch their flights. Karl and I got ushered into the First Class check in queue and that went a bit more quickly, but we weren't pressed for time.
We may have left a few minutes late, but the flight was as good as one can expect.  I didn't sleep a wink, unfortunately, but I tried. This plane has recently undergone a facelift.  New paint job outside and new interior. Very comfy seats, clean, excellent TV, movie, game, music choices. I watched The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. I caught Karl watching a program about ABBA but he claims it was about a photographer who worked with ABBA.  Mmm hmm.  There was even a USB charging port built in to the electronic pad on the back of the seat.  Headphones were provided, as was a bottle of water.
Dinner was meatballs, rice, and maybe edamame--some kind of pea/bean-- both cooked and raw in a tossed salad. Roll, butter, cheesecake--passable.  Breakfast was a real mish-mash--yogurt, fruit, roll, butter, ham, cheese, juice, tea.
Photos from this day are here.  Sorry they're in a random order. I'll try to figure it out tomorrow.

  2. Hahaha! Love your selfie, and Karl's long-suffering look, and the ABBA shots. At first I thought that was Nigel Tufnel from This Is Spinal Tap.
